Giuseppe Laghezza Masci, President of the Italian-Turkish Business Association (AIIT), met in Rome with Gürsel Baran and Halil İbrahim Yılmaz, respectively President and Vice President of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) — the second largest chamber of commerce in Türkiye, representing over 160,000 members. The meeting focused on discussing new strategies aimed at consolidating economic and commercial relations between Ankara and Rome.

During the talks, the parties outlined the organization of an upcoming official summit in Ankara dedicated to the “Region 2 Region” project. The objective is to plan an institutional mission in coordination with the Lazio Region, involving the Rome Chamber of Commerce and the primary regional bodies responsible for internationalization.

On the occasion of their visit for the “Italy-Türkiye Symposium on Diplomacy, Culture, and Economy,” President Baran and his delegation were guests at an official reception held at the residence of the Ambassador of Türkiye to Rome, H.E. Elif Çomoğlu Ülgen. The event was attended by top academic authorities from Sapienza University of Rome and Ankara University, who recently signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

AIIT reaffirms its commitment to supporting not only economic cooperation initiatives between the two countries but also cultural, academic, and educational exchange activities, following the guidelines already established in collaboration with university institutes in the Abruzzo and Marche regions.
