Abruzzo as a strategic hub for the Italy-Türkiye commercial axis

PESCARA – TÜRKONFED’s international mission in Italy arrives in Pescara, transforming the coastal area into an operational laboratory for the “Region2Region” project. The event, organized by AIIT in synergy with Confindustria Medio Adriatico, comes at a stage of extraordinary political convergence between Rome and Ankara, with both Governments committed to fostering long-term industrial synergy.

At the heart of the Pescara stage was the firm will to give substance to the “Region2Region” model, understood not just as an export opportunity, but as a systematic integration between production districts. High-level discussion sessions allowed local business leaders to interface with the Turkish delegation, exploring investments in a market that today represents one of Italy’s most reliable and strategic partners.

Beyond the commercial focus, the meeting reaffirmed the political value of the Abruzzo pilot project: a successful model destined to become the national standard for business internationalization. Supported by the leadership of AIIT, the delegation analyzed the region’s logistical potential, confirming that collaboration with partners such as FIRA and the Chambers of Commerce is key to answering the institutional call for shared transnational growth.

With the “Region2Region” project, Abruzzo officially candidates itself to lead the new course of Italian-Turkish economic relations, transforming geographical and political proximity into a competitive advantage for local SMEs.
