On January 28 and 29, 2026, the meeting of the AIIT Board of Directors was held in the Republic of San Marino.

The meeting was attended by Giuseppe Laghezza Masci (AIIT President), Orçun Gömeç (Board Member and Vice President Treasurer), Alaaddin Güven (AIIT Secretary General), Burak Pehlivan (Board Member, President of TÜRKONFED INTERNATIONAL, and President of TUID), Arda Batu (Secretary General of TÜRKONFED), Emre Karaahmetoğlu (Board Member and TUID Vice President), Board Members Fortunato Guadalupi and Nicola Cecchi, along with Pelin Oğur and Svitlana Ostapenko.

The choice of location for the meeting was driven by the initiation of high-level discussions between AIIT and the authorities of San Marino. As a first concrete result of these talks, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the San Marino Economic Development Agency, representing a fundamental pillar for future operations.

In particular, the President of AIIT highlighted the significant interest shown by the Minister of Industry, Rossano Fabbri, and the Deputy Minister, Elia Rossi. Both recognized the strategic value of the “triangulation” proposed by AIIT to promote San Marino’s entrepreneurial and strategic framework in Türkiye and vice versa.

Commitments were made to organize and coordinate official meetings and a series of technical roundtables to consolidate the link between the Republic of San Marino (RSM), AIIT, and the Turkish industrial system, represented by TÜRKONFED.
