On February 12, 2026, a meeting was held at the headquarters of Confindustria L’Aquila between AIIT, chaired by Giuseppe Laghezza Masci, commercial attaches from the Turkish Embassy, and numerous local entrepreneurs interested in exploring exchange opportunities with Türkiye.

During the session, the Turkish economic framework was outlined, with a specific focus on the prospects for industrial and commercial collaboration between the two production systems.

The “Region To Region” project was also presented, which aims to build a stable model of international cooperation through a form of “twinning” between the 26 Turkish development agencies (regions) and the Italian regions.

In this context, the Abruzzo–Izmir pilot project is taking shape—a flagship initiative that will subsequently be extended to other regions.

The next appointment is scheduled for April 22-24, with events planned between L’Aquila and Pescara. These meetings will involve, in addition to Confindustria L’Aquila and Confindustria Abruzzo, the Chambers of Commerce, Unioncamere, and the leading trade associations active in internationalization processes.
