In October 2025, a mission led by a TÜRKONFED delegation took place in Rome, organized in collaboration with our Association. The objective was to capitalize on the momentum, strongly emphasized at the governmental level, to develop bilateral relations through institutional meetings with the leading Italian organizations dedicated to the internationalization of businesses.

The delegation, composed of the President of TÜRKONFED, Dr. Süleyman Sönmez, the Secretary General, Dr. Arda Batu, and the President of TÜRKONFED INTERNATIONAL and TUID, Dr. Burak Pehlivan, accompanied by managers and entrepreneurs, met with the leadership of Confindustria, Confapi, Confesercenti, SACE, Unioncamere, and Invitalia.

The primary goal was to consolidate dialogue channels between Italian and Turkish interlocutors to jointly identify concrete opportunities to:

• Encourage Turkish investment in Italy (access to the EU market);
• Strengthen the Italian presence in Türkiye;
• Strengthen the Turkish presence in Italy;
• Create strategic partnerships through joint ventures and supply agreements, particularly in the mechanical engineering, infrastructure, and energy sectors.

During their stay in Rome, the delegation was received for an official private meeting at the Turkish Embassy in Italy by the Ambassador, H.E. Elif Çomoğlu Ülgen, and participated in the celebrations for the anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye.
